You can buy any of the tea dispenser files here!
First, print your tea dispenser - make sure you print at 100% scale for the proper sizing!
Materials needed:
- Scissors or x-acto knife
- Ruler or straight edge (a piece of thick paper will do)
- Bone folder or credit card
- Crafter's tape, double sided tape, glue stick, or tape
- Printed tea dispenser pages
♦ ♦ ♦
Cut out your dispenser page(s)! Follow the inside of the thick outer cut lines, so you won't see any on the final dispenser pieces. This will make sure the measurements will line up on everything correctly. Feel free to cut out the teeth shapes if provided, or just the arch, depending on what you prefer.
♦ ♦ ♦
Crease the thinner inner fold lines with a bone folder or credit card. Use a ruler or thick paper to keep your creasing tool going straight along the fold lines.
♦ ♦ ♦
Fold along each of the fold lines. For the flaps, fold them both ways to make the next steps easier. Press using a bone folder or credit card as you fold to get a crisp and pliable fold.
♦ ♦ ♦
Apply tape or glue to one of the side flaps on the upper part of the back piece. For the half-size dispensers, check the height of the rectangle against the front part of the dispenser to make sure it matches and you're actually working on the 'upper' part - it'll be the slightly smaller half of the piece.
♦ ♦ ♦
Attach the front piece to the adhesive'd tab, with the edge of the side of the front lining up just outside the crease in the flap of the back piece. You'll want the tab on the back to be upward/on the top and the other half of the back to be downward/near the butt of the creature.
♦ ♦ ♦
Flip the whole thing over and, keeping the printed side of the front facing the table, fold just the newly glued back piece over so you can see the printed side, and then fold the other side of the front over like pictured above.
Apply more glue or tape to the back side tab, and press the front side down completely flat, even if it doesn't quite touch the crease in the tab like the other tab - this will make sure the top opening of the final dispenser will be a perfect square and not a rhombus!
♦ ♦ ♦
Here's what you should have so far! Now we just need to tape the flaps on the bottom to the inner sides.
♦ ♦ ♦
Press the tabs on the bottom inward to make taping them easier, and fold the feet tabs up toward the head to keep them out of the way while we finish up. Apply tape to both bottom tabs at once.
♦ ♦ ♦
Push the adhesive'd bottom up into the dispenser, and carefully line up the bottom of the foot corner to the bottom of the tab corner, keeping the tabs on the inside of the dispenser. Press firmly to adhere.
♦ ♦ ♦
Finished! You can use the tongue tab to write the tea that will go in, or use a piece of washi tape for a removable tea type - or just cut it if you don't like it.
♦ ♦ ♦
Thanks and enjoy!! :)
